Interview with Aztech Yi

Q: Last year, you and Kasper released "Hybrid Thoughts" album. Were you happy with the response to the album?

A: Well it wasn't actually an album, but more of an appetizer until we release the actual album this Summer. But to answer your question, the response has been great. As usual, most of the love has come from overseas, 7,000 streams in the first week.

Q: Are you working on any videos for the album?

A:Nah, like i said it wasn't supposed to be anything official, but I'm definitely grateful for the love it's gotten.

Q: Are you working on any new projects at the moment?

A: So we're currently working on/wrapping up an album fully produced by Yuki Kanesaka from Japan.(now living in Boston) His album "One Day" actually reached #1 on the Itunes Japan charts last year, so he's obviously the real deal. He was the touring keyboardist for Cee-Lo, Slum Village, Pharoahe Monch and more.. the man literally plays 36 instruments, so you could imagine how confident we are with this album production wise. HT has been rocking together for about 15 years now together, and i can confidently say this is the best project we've ever done.

Q: Haven't seen you on stage in a while. Any planned performances that fans should know about?

A: We're always rocking man, been putting more of a focus on out of state shows and touring etc. Live shows have always been our strong point, so that will always be there. We'll also be back on the main stage at The Boston Freedom Rally this year for the 9th year in a row. I'm sure there will obviously be a ton before that as well.
